It appears that Dwight Howard has officially signed away his opt-out clause for his contract and will be staying with the Orlando Magic for the 2012-13 season, according to ESPN NBA insider Chris Broussard.
Chris Broussard reported on ESPN just now that he just received a text message from Dwight Howard saying he has signed the waiver.

If this is indeed true, the Magic have just put themselves as a contender for the NBA championship this season. It does raise the question now about what is going to go on next year around this time when Howard's contract officially ends.
Whats even more surprising is the fact that this waiver will go through without the signature of Howard's agent Dan Fegan.
A person briefed on the situation tells @CBSSports that the NBA will execute contract amendment without signature of agent Dan Fegan.

One can wonder now what the relationship between agent and player will be after this situation.
