Patrick Ewing Says He Hasn't Heard From Bobcats

Orlando Magic assistant coach Patrick Ewing was in the mix for the Charlotte Bobcats job in 2010, but ultimately lost out to now fired Paul Silas. Ewing is reportedly in the mix for the head coaching position with the Bobcats again, but claims he hasn't heard from anyone yet.

"No one's called yet, but I'd definitely have some interest in any job," Ewing told the Orlando Sentinel before tip-off on Tuesday evening. "I've, no doubt, put in my apprenticeship working as an assistant coach for nine years now, so I'm just looking for an opportunity."

Ewing has been an assistant coach in the NBA for nine seasons, spending the past five under Stan Van Gundy with the Orlando Magic. Ewing is close friends with Bobcats owner Michael Jordan and has been rumored for the job ever since Silas was fired after the Bobcats dismal 7-59 season.
