The Orlando Magic's eventful offseason continued on Friday afternoon when reports surfaced that point guard Jameer Nelson would opt out of his contract, making him an unrestricted free agent. Nelson was set to make just under $7.9 million in 2012-2013, the final year of his deal. But according to Alex Kennedy of HoopsWorld, he will exercise his player option:

Nelson will join Ryan Anderson and Earl Clark as fellow Magic players testing the free agent waters. It's likely that the Magic will try to re-sign Nelson to a two to three year deal. Chris Duhon is the only other point guard currently under contract.
