Phil Jackson To Orlando Magic Unlikely, According To Report

The rumors that Phil Jackson could be getting a job in the Orlando Magic front office appear to be fizzling out. The current proposal would have Jackson in a front office position, possibly a minority owner, but he wouldn't be there full time.

According to a report by Joshua Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel, there are members of the current front office would not be keen with handing control of basketball operations to someone not in Orlando all the time.

In their search to replace Otis Smith, the Magic plan to hire someone who will be in Orlando on a full-time basis as well as someone who has experience working at the highest levels of a basketball operations department.

The current plan would have had Jackson in the front office while Indiana Pacers assistant and former Los Angeles Lakers Assistant Bryan Shaw would take over as head coach and Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen would become the top assistant.
