On Wednesday afternoon multiple reports indicated that a potential trade that would send Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard to the Brooklyn Nets fell through. Those reports were validated when the Nets signed center Brook Lopez to a max deal and essentially killed the hopes of that deal.
Now according to ESPN's Ric Bucher, the Magic are making a last ditch effort to kiss and make up with the three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year.

Howard has requested that the Magic trade him and indicated that the only team he would sign a long-term contract with was the Nets. If he doesn't sign a new contract, Howard is set to become a free agent at the conclusion of the 2012-13 NBA season.
