Dwight Howard Trade Saga: Howard Won't Reconsider Staying With Magic

News leaked Thursday morning that the Orlando Magic would make a second appeal for disgruntled superstar Dwight Howard to say with the team, tor reasons unknown publicly - perhaps the correct trade still hasn't surfaced for Orlando. ESPN is reporting that Howard is having none of it, and still wants out of Orlando as soon as possible.

New G.M. Rob Hennigan and the revamped Orlando front office made a second pitch to Howard, which went as well as the first:

"I already heard that from the other guy on the phone," said Howard, according to the source.

That "other guy" was presumably team president Alex Martins, who, as ESPN reports, tried previously to keep Howard when the front office stepped in to take control of basketball operations from former head coach Stan Van Gundy and former G.M. Otis Smith in December.

With the Magic and the Brooklyn Nets failing to arrive at a deal before the Nets reportedly "moved on" after Wednesday, rumored destinations for Howard are down to Houston, Atlanta and the Los Angeles Lakers.
