Magic Coaching Search: Jacque Vaughn Emerges As Potential Candidate

Orlando Magic general manager Rob Hennigan certainly has a lot on his plate right now. The Dwight Howard trade talks seemed to hit a fever pitch at the start of this week, but they quickly tapered off as the Nets and Magic could not work out a deal -- leading to a max contract for Brook Lopez in Brooklyn. But Hennigan also has a head coaching vacancy he needs to fill, and as many as six candidates have been rumored as the next potential coach.

Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Friday that Spurs assistant Jacque Vaughn's candidacy has gathered momentum, and he may be emerging as a possible frontrunner for the position. Vaughn was a one-time Kansas point guard legend before moving onto the NBA as a reserve. He has not played in the league since 2009, when he moved from the court to the bench in the San Antonio organization. An Hennigan could be targeting the up-and-coming assistant who's paint his dues under the best -- Gregg Popovich:
