It appears the search for a new head coach by the Orlando Magic is finally over. Via Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel:
The new head coach of the #Orlando #Magic is Jacque Vaughn, the @OrlandoSentinel has learned.
— Josh Robbins (@JoshuaBRobbins) July 28, 2012
Vaughn, formerly an assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs, met with Magic CEO Alex Martins for a second interview on Friday in Las Vegas, where Vaughn was serving as head coach of the Spurs summer league team.
Vaughn had become the leading candidate for the Magic head coaching job in the last week, when the team told Golden State assistant Michael Malone he was no longer being considered, and Indiana Pacers assistant Brian Shaw took himself out of the race.
