Mavericks, Magic Meet To Discuss Possible Dwight Howard Deal, According To Report

Dallas Mavericks general manager Donnie Nelson spoke with the media about his meeting with Magic GM Rob Hennigan, but it doesn't sound like anything is imminent in the Dwight Howard trade drama involving Dallas. While Nelson told Fox Sports Southwest that the two "will probably talk again," he downplayed the likelihood of a deal getting done.

"There's just not much there (in terms of a Mavs-Magic trade to be done in 2012),'' Nelson tells us.

The Magic are running out of options as Howard reportedly has no interest in staying with the Magic long-term and is entering the final year of his contract. If no deal can get done, the Mavericks would be among the potential favorites to acquire the three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year.
