<p><span class="caps">TAMPA</span> <span class="caps">BAY</span> – The Tampa Bay Lightning reassigned defenseman Matt Roy (<span class="caps">WAH</span>) and forward Blair Jones to the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League today, Vice President and General Manager Steve Yzerman announced.</p>
<p>Roy, 6-foot-2, 208 pounds, played in one game with the Lightning, November 4, 2010 at Los Angeles, recording 9:22 of ice time and two penalty minutes after being recalled on November 1. He has played in nine games for the Admirals this season, recording two goals and eight points with a plus-5 rating.</p>
<p>A native of St. Georges, Quebec, Roy spent last season in the Columbus Blue Jackets organization, skating in a career-high 31 games and notching a career-best 10 assists. He also played in 15 <span class="caps">AHL</span> games with Syracuse and Rochester, recording four points. Roy also appeared in six postseason games with the Americans, registering 11 penalty minutes.</p>
<p>Roy was drafted by Edmonton in the seventh round, 215th overall, of the 2003 <span class="caps">NHL</span> Entry Draft and was signed by Columbus as a free agent on July 14, 2009.</p>
<p>Jones, 6-foot-2, 216 pounds, played in four games with the Lightning after being recalled from the Admirals on October 26. He registered a goal and an assist with a plus-1 rating. He has also recorded four goals and 10 points with a plus-3 rating in seven games with Norfolk this season.</p>
<p>A native of Central Butte, Saskatchewan, Jones has played in 42 career <span class="caps">NHL</span> games, all with the Lightning. He has registered two goals and five points with 12 penalty minutes during his career. Last season Jones played in 14 games with the Lightning, recording 10 penalty minutes and averaging a career-best 12:50 in average ice time.</p>
<p>Jones was drafted by Tampa Bay in the fourth round, 102nd overall, of the 2005 <span class="caps">NHL</span> Entry Draft.</p>

<p>San Jose, CA (Sports Network) – Patrick Marleau scored twice to help the San Jose Sharks take a 5-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning at HP Pavilion.</p>
<p>Dany Heatley and Logan Couture each had a goal and an assist for the Sharks, who were coming off back-to-back shutout losses at the hands of St. Louis and Minnesota. Antero Niittymaki made 33 saves in the win.</p>
<p>San Jose captain Joe Thornton served the first of a two-game suspension levied to him for an illegal hit to the head on St. Louis forward David Perron on Thursday. Thornton was assessed a major and game misconduct for the hit.</p>
<p>Steven Stamkos had a goal and an assist while Martin St. Louis scored the other goal for the Lightning, who went 1-2-1 on a four-game road trip. Mike Smith was tagged for all five goals on 39 shots in the loss.</p>
<p>Marleau got the scoring started in the contest with a shorthanded marker when he stole the puck in the neutral zone and blew a slapper past Smith from the to of the left circle at the 12:16 mark of the first.</p>
<p>Tampa got the goal back 1:38 later as Stamkos sent a wrist shot on net from the left point that was tipped by Niittymaki by St. Louis in front.</p>
<p>San Jose, though, got the goal back at the 15:26 mark when Marleau beat Smith with a wrister on the power play.</p>
<p>San Jose made it a 3-1 game 11:27 into the second as Couture fired a shot on net from the right boards that saw Heatley chip home the rebound for his sixth goal of the season.</p>
<p>John McCarthy made it a 4-1 game six minutes later when his slap shot got past Smith.</p>
<p>Couture’s tip-in of a Heatley shot 27 seconds into the third extended San Jose’s lead to 5-1, while Stamkos scored on a big blast with 1:47 to play to account for the final score.</p>

<p>The Lightning return home to face Toronto on Tuesday…The Sharks have won five of the last six against the Lightning…The Sharks host Anaheim on Tuesday…San Jose was 1-for-7 on the power play while Tampa Bay was 1-for-4.</p>

<p>Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) – Justin Williams scored the only goal of the game and Jonathan Quick stopped all 24 shots he faced in Los Angeles’s 1-0 decision over Tampa Bay at Staples Center.</p>
<p>Ryan Smyth set up the game-winning tally for the Kings, who beat the visitors on home ice for the first time since November 6, 1997 at the Great Western Forum.</p>
<p>Quick improved to 8-1-0 on the season with his ninth career shutout for the hosts, who have won their initial five home games for the first time since 1980-81.</p>
<p>Mike Smith was the hard-luck loser, turning away 25 shots in defeat for the Lightning, who have dropped two in a row following wins in three out of four.</p>

<p>Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) – Ryan Getzlaf’s goal with 2:07 remaining in overtime lifted Anaheim over Tampa Bay, 3-2, at Honda Center.</p>
<p>Teemu Selanne carried the puck down the left wing, then circled behind the net to the right side. Before hitting the goal line, he used the backhand to dish into the slot where Getzlaf swiped a shot home.</p>
<p>Selanne and Kyle Palmieri also scored for the Ducks, who had dropped three of four coming in. Jonas Hiller earned the win with 32 stops.</p>
<p>Blair Jones and Steven Stamkos tallied for the Lightning, who had won three of four. Dan Ellis made 27 saves in defeat.</p>
