The Miami Marlins lost eight of nine games heading into their series against the San Francisco Giants, but they're on a three-game winning streak after pulling off an impressive road sweep on Thursday. The Giants scored in the bottom of the 8th and got a runner on in the bottom of the 9th to create some nervy moments for the Marlins, but Edward Mujica closed out the last inning for his first save of the season and a 3-2 Marlins win.

Both starting pitchers were good on Thursday, but Ryan Vogelsong took longer to get going than Anibal Sanchez. Miami scored a run each in both of the first two innings and held onto their 2-0 lead until the 6th inning, when Gregor Blanco scored from third on a double play that got the runners at first and second, but not home.

Relievers Clay Hensley and Ryan Webb allowed a run each in the 8th inning to make it 3-2 heading to the top of the 9th. San Fransisco got out of the top of the inning unscathed, giving them a chance to tie or win the game in the bottom of the inning. Brandon Belt got on for the Giants with a single, but they failed to drive him in as the Marlins held on.

The Miami Marlins were in San Francisco on Wednesday, which means an obscenely late starting time. When Heath Bell blew a two-run lead in the ninth inning in spectacular fashion and the game ended up going into extra innings, which means any shot you might have had to watch the conclusion could have easily gone out the window. Luckily, Giancarlo Stanton has got your back.

The game was tied at two in the top of the tenth inning when Stanton hit his third home run of the season into the San Francisco night to give the Marlins a one-run lead. Steve Cishek pitched his second consecutive scoreless inning in the bottom of the tenth and the Marlins were able to get the win, even though it took a full inning more than they would have likely wanted. Carlos Zambrano got another hard luck no decision in this one. He went seven innings allowing just five hits, but the blown save in the bottom of the ninth ruined his chance at a win. He's still looking for his first positive decision of the year.

The Miami Marlins are out on the west coast taking on the San Francisco Giants, hoping to pick up their second consecutive win over the Giants and pick up another series on the road. Through the first three innings, the Marlins have an early 2-0 lead over the Giants.

In the first inning, Omar Infante grounded out to a fielder's choice, but Emilio Bonifacio was able to get to the plate and give the Marlins the early 1-0 lead. In the very next inning, Bonifacio was called safe at first due to an error, allowing Giancarlo Stanton to come in for a run to push the Marlins lead over the Giants to 2-0.

The Miami Marlins defeated the San Francisco Giants 2-1 on Tuesday night thanks to a strong seven and-a-third innings pitched by Ricky Nolasco and a solo home run from Giancarlo Stanton in the fifth inning. Nolasco allowed only one run on seven hits in the victory. Armed with just their second win since April 20, the Marlins look to keep building momentum as they play the second of three games against the Giants on Wednesday night.

Carlos Zambrano goes to the mound looking for his first win of the season, currently standing at 0-2 with a 3.24 ERA. His last start was against the Arizona Diamondbacks on April 27. In that game he pitched six innings while allowing three runs on 10 hits in a 5-0 Miami loss. He will match up against Giants pitcher Barry Zito.

Zito is currently 1-0 with a 1.67 ERA. His last start was a no decision against the Cincinnati Reds on April 25. He pitched six innings and allowed a home run to Scott Rolen after pitching six shut out innings, allowing four hits.

Both pitchers have pitched well against the other team in their career. Zito has especially been effective against infielders Hanley Ramirez and Jose Reyes in his career, holding both hitters to batting averages of .063 and .091 respectively.

The game is scheduled for a 10:15 first pitch from AT&T Park in San Francisco. Television coverage will be provided by Fox Sports Florida with radio coverage provided by WAXY 790 AM and WAQI 710 AM.

The Miami Marlins will send Ricky Nolasco to the mound for their first game against the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday night.

The Miami Marlins are coming off of a rough series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, and things don't get much better as they head up the West Cost to take on the San Francisco Giants. The first game is on Tuesday and first pitch is scheduled for 10:15 pm ET. You can find the game on Fox Sports Florida.

The pitching matchup will be a difficult one for the fish, as they have to face Matt Cain. Tim Lincecum has been the ace of the staff for the last couple of years, but Cain has pitched way better than him this year after receiving an enormous contract in the offseason. He only has a 1-1 record, but his 26 strikeouts are among the best in baseball.
