After undergoing surgery on his left knee in the summer, Miami Heat All-Star Dwyane Wade still isn't 100 percent and will most likely miss the team's October preseason games.

Miami Heat All-Star Dwyane Wade may not be ready to participate in any preseason games this year as he's still recovering from arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. Wade underwent the surgical procedure on July 9 and the initial timetable for recovery was four to six weeks.

But according to an ESPN report, Wade still isn't where he needs to be and will likely miss Miami's preseason games. But the team is optimistic he'll be ready to play in their Oct. 30 season opener:

"We'll just have to see how much he can do," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "We'd like to put him in a position to be able to play regular-season games and be ready for Game 1."

Wade had been bothered by the knee for much of last season and was forced to have it drained on several occasions, including the playoffs. The injury made it clear that he was not the same player as before as he averaged 22.1 points during the regular season while playing just 33 minutes per game. The Heat haven't given a set timetable for when he'll be able to return to action, and for his part, Wade is just being patient, staying focused and keeping a positive mindset. "I've been here before, you don't have to go around the block to get next door," said Wade, who had left knee surgery in 2008. "My focus is Oct. 30. I'm not going to be ready for the Finals today."

Dwyane Wade was back on the court Tuesday, as he illustrated earlier in the day, working out on a basketball court for the first time since his arthroscopic knee surgery July 9. Wade had a break between charity events in Chicago and an upcoming book tour, so he decided to get us updated a bit on his status.

Wade said two weeks ago that he wouldn't be on the court until the first week of September, but he's obviously moving ahead of schedule. The defending NBA champion Miami Heat begin training camp on Sept. 29.

Dwyane Wade had knee surgery this summer after winning his second championship with the Miami Heat and last we heard, rehab was going well. In addition to that, Wade finds it important to really pace himself in returning to action. He doesn't want to rush anything, and with all that's at stake in terms of NBA supremacy, can't see the Heat wanting him to rush back either.

After all, this is the same knee that kept him limited in the playoffs this past season, when LeBron James clearly took the wheel in driving this team to a title. Wade, the ultimate professional, says he'll be ready to go when it's time.

Wade quote, via Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel:

"My biggest worry is to be ready Oct. 30. So, obviously, as training camp goes on, I'll work myself into it, as I continue to get stronger, as I continue to work out with my knee.

"I can't start really working out until the first week of September. I don't want to do too much. The Miami Heat understand it. They know it. But they know I also will be ready to go when it's time to go."

Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade was forced to miss an opportunity to win a gold medal in London after undergoing surgery on his left knee on July 9. But Wade was in London to support his NBA brethren, according to an ESPN report, and spoke on both his surgery and his progress through rehab.

"I feel good. Rehab is going very well," Wade told The Associated Press. "I'm happy with it. I'm more encouraged than I was, obviously, when I knew I had to get surgery. So I'm happy."

Wade expects to be ready to go in time for the opening of the Heat's training camp, which begins in late September, as he begins to aggressively step up his rehab:

He started rehabbing almost immediately after surgery, first trying to build strength in his hip and knee areas. Around Sept. 1, he expects to do more intense training.

Not only is the Miami Heat's Dwyane Wade going to miss the 2012 London Olympics, teammate Chris Bosh is going to miss them as well. A tweet by Kurt Helin of Pro Basketball Talk confirmed that Bosh will miss the London Games to rest his injured abdominal muscle.

Much was made about Bosh's injury during the 2012 NBA Playoffs and Heat president Pat Riley told Chris Tomasson of Fox Sports Florida that Bosh may have rushed back to help his team in the playoffs.

Pat Riley on Chris Bosh and Olympics: "He's still nursing an injury. He had a significant abdominal injury.'' Said he wouldn't have played for another three or four weeks if Heat not in playoffs. "Chris has represented his country all ready... I don't know what's going to happen.''

Bosh was a part of the 2008 United States Basketball Team that won the gold medal at the Beijing Olympics. His best game came against Greece in pool play, where he scored 18 points and grabbed five rebounds. He also had a key game in the semifinals against Argentina, scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds to help Team USA reach the gold medal game.

Dwyane Wade will not be playing for Team USA at the Olympics in London this summer because of knee surgery.

The United States basketball team is going to have to look and see if they can replace Dwyane Wade.
Wade played hard the entire season, playing 72 games overall since last Christmas. However, with losing him, Team USA will be losing one of their more aggressive scorers when they go to London next month. In international play, Wade averages 16 points per game. In the gold medal game against Spain in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Wade led Team USA in scoring with 27 points.
