The Miami Marlins ran into a buzz saw on Thursday and his name is R.A. Dickey. The New York Mets ace pitched an amazing game against the Marlins, pitching a complete game for his 15th win of the season as the Mets won 6-1 against Miami.

After falling behind 1-0 in the second inning on an RBI single by Mets catcher Josh Thole, Marlins centerfielder Justin Ruggiano hit a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning. That would be the only offense the Marlins could muster in the game.

Mets centerfielder Andres Torres finished the game 3-for-3 and a single shy of the cycle. In the later innings he hit an RBI double, triple and home run, recording three RBIs, all but giving the Mets the win.

Marlins starting pitcher Josh Johnson lasted six innings and allowed three runs on eight hits for the game. His record dropped to 7-8.

After dismantling the Mets, 13-0, on Wednesday night, the Marlins will have the task of continuing their hot offense against R.A. Dickey. After starting with a 13-1 record that made him the toast of the league, Dickey lost two of his last three starts, including a loss to the Padres on Saturday.

Slated to face off against Dickey, is Josh Johnson taking the mound for the Marlins. With a winning performance against the Nationals on Saturday that was just one out from being a complete game, Johnson got his record back to even for the first time since early June and can earn a winning record for the first time all season on Thursday.

The Marlins and Mets will get to an early start on Thursday with a 12:10 p.m. start time at Citi Field and will be televised on Fox Sports Florida and SNY.

The Miami Marlins entered Wednesday evenings game against the New York Mets looking for back to back wins, and did so in blowout fashion beating up on New York 13-0. The Marlins kicked it off early with two home runs, first by Jose Reyes and then followed up by a blast from Giancarlo Stanton to take an early 3-0 lead.

The Marlins got a good five solid innings out of Nate Eovaldi, who gave up just four hits on way to picking up just his third victory. The Mets bats stayed cold even when the Fish went to their bullpen however as the Marlins continued to pour on runs, including another Stanton home run. In total on the way to a 13-0 loss, the Mets gave up four home runs.

The Miami Marlins last won back-to-back games on July 28-29, only the second time they have done that since the break. They have a chance to do it a third time on Wednesday night against the New York Mets with a fourth-inning outburst.

On the mound for Miami is Nate Eovaldi, making only his third start since being acquired from the Dodger in the Hanley Ramirez deal. His last outing was a rough one as he surrendered six runs on eight hits in two innings to the Braves. In two starts versus the Mets, Eovaldi is 0-1 with a 5.59 ERA.

New York counters with Chris Young, who enters the game following his best start of the season last week. He held the Giants to one run over seven innings, allowing just four hits in the process.

Jose Reyes has a chance to extend his hitting streak to 26 games on the field he used to call home.

The game starts at 7:10 p.m. and can be seen on Fox Sports Florida.

After a rough weekend in Washington, the Miami Marlins headed north to Citi Field for a three-game set with the Mets. And Ozzie Guillen's club opened their series in New York with a 4-2 victory. Wade LeBlanc got a spot start for the Fish and gave up just one run in four innings before handing things over to an array of bullpen arms. Carlos Zambrano was credited with the win, pitching 1.1 scoreless innings as the second of five relievers used by Guillen. Steve Cishek came on in the ninth and struck out two of three batters faced to earn his seventh save of the season.

Jose Reyes extended his hitting streak to 25 games during a big fourth-inning rally for the Fish. Miami put a four-spot up on the board against Jonathon Niese and that would be enough to clinch the win. Reyes reach on an infield single to put men on first and second for Carlos Lee, and the slugger brought home Justin Ruggiano from second with a single to left.

Giancarlo Stanton, who was just activated off the DL, knocked in Reyes with a sacrifice fly to centerfield that pushed the lead to 2-0. A John Buck double rounded out the rally, as he ripped one to right to score Lee and Austin Kearns. The four-run rally featured five hits in the inning and it would give the bullpen a nice cushion to work with to close the door.

The Miami Marlins open a three-game series with the New York Mets on Tuesday night. Shortstop Jose Reyes is looking to extend his hitting streak to 26 games.

The Miami Marlins are looking for positives towards the end of this season and shortstop Jose Reyes is providing that, with a 25-game hitting streak. During this streak, Reyes has been hitting .371 while scoring 18 runs.

The Marlins hope that offense continues as they send pitcher Wade LeBlanc to the mound. In his last appearance, his first start against the Atlanta Braves on August 1, LeBlanc lasted four and one-thirds innings, allowing one run on five hits in a 4-1 victory over the Braves.
