The Jacksonville Jaguars go for their second win in a row when they host the Bengals.

The Jacksonville Jaguars go for two wins in a row when they host the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday afternoon. The Jaguars broke through in Week 3 with their first win of the season, which was secured by a dramatic touchdown in the final minute of the fourth quarter.

The Bengals come into Week 4 riding a two-game winning streak, and a win over Jacksonville would pull them into a tie with the Baltimore Ravens for first place in the AFC North.

Cincinnati ranks eighth in the NFL in both total and scoring offense, so that group will a challenge for Jacksonville's defense, which ranks just 28th in total defense. While the Jaguars' offense has had its problems in 2012, Cincinnati's defense presents an opportunity to establish some rhythm. The Bengals are 29th in total defense and 31st in points allowed.

Jacksonville will be without defensive end George Selvie and linebacker Daryl Smith, but the other players listed on the injury report are expected to play. The Bengals won't have cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick, and fellow cornerbacks Jason Allen and Nate Clements are doubtful.

The Jacksonville Jaguars could have wide receiver Laurent Robinson back on the field against the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday.

Jaguars wide receiver Laurent Robinson is listed as probable to make his return to the team after suffering from a concussion last week. Robinson participated in practice Friday after spending the previous two days out recovering.

"He did everything today," coach Mike Mularkey said after practice, courtesy of a report by the Florida Times-Union. "We anticipated him coming back today. It was smart limiting him [Thursday]."

Linebacker Daryl Smith (groin) and defensive end George Selvie (knee) were the only players who didn't practice Friday and both have been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bengals.

Eight players were listed on Thursday's injury report: defensive end Austen Lane, left guard Eben Britton, right tackle Cam Bradfield, running backs Rashad Jennings and Montell Owens, center Brad Meester, cornerback Kevin Rutland and defensive tackle Tyson Alualu. All of them are listed as probable for Sunday.

Mularkey said he would check out the team's practice film before making a decision on whether or not to start the linemen, Britton and Bradfield.

For the Bengals, cornerback Nate Clements (calf) is listed as doubtful and their other cornerback Leon Hall is doubtful as well. To add to that, Bengals center Jeff Faine (hamstring) was limited Friday and is classified as questionable for Sunday, which means rookie free agent Trevor Robinson could be making his first NFL start against the Jags.

The Cincinnati Bengals are anywhere from one-point to three-point favorites over the Jacksonville Jaguars this week.

The Cincinnati Bengals are anywhere from a one-point to a three-point favorite over the Jacksonville Jaguars this week, according to various oddsmakers listed on OddsShark.com.

The Bengals (2-1) are riding a two-game winning streak after losing their season opener to the Baltimore Ravens, 44-13. Led by quarterback Andy Dalton, who has thrown for 867 yards and six touchdowns, and wide receiver A.J. Green, who has caught 21 passes for 311 yards and two touchdowns, the Bengals' offense has been impressive. Cincinnati has scored 34 and 38 points in its last two games and the team's 291 yards per game through the air is the fourth-best in the NFL.

The Jaguars (1-2) won their first game of the season last weekend, topping the Indianapolis Colts, 22-17. Running back Maurice Jones-Drew has been Jacksonville's leader on offense, rushing for 314 yards and one touchdown.

Five Jaguars sat out Wednesday's practice. Smith's groin injury could cost him at least one game.

Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Daryl Smith is likely to miss at least one game due to a groin injury he suffered in Week 3 against Indianapolis, according to reports. Smith was one of five Jaguars who missed practice Wednesday. That list, according to SB Nation site Big Cat Country, included receiver Laurent Robinson (concussion) and defensive end George Selvie (knee). Defensive tackle Tyson Alualu and center Brad Meester also sat out Wednesday's practice to rest.

Guard Eben Britton was limited in Wednesday's practice. Britton and tackle Cameron Bradfield are both recovering from early-season ankle injuries. Bradfield was a full participant at practice on Wednesday. Both players hope to return for Sunday's Week 4 contest against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Cincinnati had six players sit out of practice on Wednesday, including starting cornerbacks Leon Hall and Nate Clements. Those two missed practice with hamstring and calf injuries, respectively.

Jacksonville enters Sunday's game at 1-2, while the Bengals come in at 2-1. The Jaguars defeated the Colts last week, while the Bengals held on against Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins.

After five catches in the season opener, offensive line injuries have forced tight end Marcedes Lewis into unwanted blocking duties.

Instability on the Jacksonville Jaguars offensive line has led to an increased blocking role for tight end Mercedes Lewis. According to the Florida Times-Union, however, a number of folks within the Jacksonville organization hope to get Lewis involved more heavily in the passing game. Lewis caught five passes for 52 yards in the Jaguars' season-opener against the Minnesota Vikings, but he's only seen one ball thrown his way since then.

"He’s the best blocking tight end in the NFL," Jacksonville quarterback Blaine Gabbert said. "But like you saw in the first game [against Minnesota], you can get him rolling in the passing game. Get the ball in his hands, he has the ability to make plays and stretch the field. He’s a matchup nightmare for linebackers."

Lewis should have a chance to catch more passes this Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Jaguars are hopeful that guard Eben Britton and tackle Cameron Bradfield will return from early-season injuries. If that's the case, Lewis will likely be able to unload some of his blocking duties. It appears that he's ready to do so.

"It is what it is, I’m a tight end," Lewis said about his increased blocking duties. "If I was a receiver, I might be bitter."

Blaine Gabbert and and the Jacksonville Jaguars enter Week 4 as 1-point underdogs, as they play host to the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Jacksonville Jaguars enter Week 4 as 1-point underdogs against the Cincinnati Bengals, as the Jaguars look to even up their record at 2-2.

The Jaguars are coming off of an exciting 22-17 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Blaine Gabbert connected with wide receiver Cecil Shorts III on an 80-yard touchdown pass, with just 45 seconds remaining in the game, to give the Jaguars a 22-17 win.

Still, the 1-2 Jags are underdogs in Week 4, against a Bengals team that is riding a two-game winning streak. The Bengals are coming off of a thrilling win of their own, defeating the Washington Redskins, 38-31. Andy Dalton threw for 328 yards and three touchdowns, while A.J.
Through the first three weeks of the season, Jacksonville is 2-1 against the spread, while Cincinnati is 1-1-1.

The over/under for the game has been set at 43 points.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars are all ranked in the bottom half of SB Nation's Week 4 power rankings.

The state of Florida has seen better days - at least as it pertains to the NFL.

In SB Nation's latest power rankings, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the highest-ranked team in the state, coming in at No. 23, while the Miami Dolphins are No. 29, and the Jacksonville Jaguars sit in the No. 31 spot -- despite last week's thrilling win over the Indianapolis Colts.

Here's what Joel Thorman over at SB Nation had to say about each Florida team.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (LW: 24, 1-2): Seven-point loss in New York and a six-point loss in Dallas. Tough road trip.

Miami Dolphins (LW: 26, 1-2): They're a timeout away from 2-1. Unfortunately, that's their own timeout.

Jacksonville Jaguars (LW: 32, 1-2): Similar deal with Oakland. A win last weekend should move them up more. In Jacksonville's case, that's one spot.

Needless to say, the Buccaneers have looked the best, by a large margin, of any of Florida's NFL teams, and could very easily be 3-0 if a few breaks had gone Tampa Bay's way.

Looking ahead to Week 4, the Bucs play host to the Washington Redskins, while the Jaguars welcome the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Dolphins travel to Arizona to take on the Cardinals. All three teams will look to improve to 2-2 on the season.
