The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made several roster moves this week, putting cornerback Anthony Gaitor on Injured Reserve and promoting linebacker Jacob Cutrera from the practice sqad.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have placed cornerback Anthony Gaitor on Injured Reserve/Designated For Return and promoted linebacker Jacob Cutrera from the practice squad to the active roster, reports Dory Leblanc.

Gaitor sustained a hamstring injury in Week 2 of the preseason that has prevented him from contributing so far in 2012. Gaitor, a seventh-round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, saw action in eight games last year, collecting five tackles and no interceptions. Cutrera entered the league as an undrafted free agent and was signed from the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad by the Buccaneers in 2011.

Other roster moves made by Tampa Bay include signing cornerback LeQuan Lewis and defensive end Aaron Morgan to the practice squad. Lewis has bounced around the league since signing with Tennessee before the 2011 season. Morgan is another undrafted free agent. He played seven games for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2010, his rookie season, and was released earlier this year to clear space on Jacksonville's roster.

Greg Schiano admits that Josh Freeman and the Tampa Bay offense should have taken more deep shots down field during Week 4's loss to the Washington Redskins.

Despite being a first-year head coach, Greg Schiano is no stranger to public scrutiny, and he's certainly no stranger to defending himself and his team.

Just weeks after Schiano defended his aggressive play-calling against the New York Giants' victory formation, Schiano said Monday that quarterback Josh Freeman needed to be more aggressive in the first half against the Washington Redskins, via the Tampa Bay Times:

After watching Freeman go 11-of-17 for 211 yards passing and one touchdown in the second half of the Bucs' 24-22 loss to the Washington Redskins. bringing his team back from a 18-point deficit, coach Greg Schiano admitted his team should've attempted more deep passes in the first half.

"Offensively, we threw the ball deep effectively in the second half. Probably needed to take more shots in the first half.''

The Buccaneers are one of four teams with a Week 5 bye, and Schiano is taking it upon himself to look back at the first four games, and look at what worked and hasn't worked for his quarterback so far:

"I look at this quarter of the season now, you step back with the bye week and that's what we're doing now, is looking at our first four games and attacking some things in the next two days. But if it were one thing he were comfortable with or not comfortable with, we'd just cut it out and we'd up more."

Freeman and the Bucs will return to action Sunday, Oct. 14, when they host the Kansas City Chiefs. We'll see if the Bucs come out of the bye week with more aggressive offensive play calling.

Now that Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive lineman Jeremy Trueblood is coming off the bench, it's been more difficult for the team to justify a spot for him on the active roster. He was inactive in Week 4, as head coach Greg Schiano explained to reporters that he decided to give Trueblood's spot to Jamon Meredith.

"We felt like Jamon gave us more position flexibility," Schiano said. "It was a tough one. I love Trueblood. I think he's everything we want: Hard-working, (pays) attention to detail, tough. But it's just when you're not the starter, when you're a backup and you dress seven offensive linemen, it's (about) position flexibility at that point."

Trueblood has started one game for the Bucs in 2012 and started 15 games for the team in 2011. Over the course of his 6+ year career with Tampa Bay, he has made 84 starts and appeared in a total of 94 games.

Wright, who is in his sixth NFL season and first with the Buccaneers, has started all four games this season. He has 15 tackles and one interception, which he returned for a touchdown.

Additionally, Bucs linebacker Lavonte David suffered an apparent hand injury during the game. The rookie out of Nebraska has been important to Tampa Bay's defense in the early stages of the season -- he's started every game for the team and has a total of 33 tackles.

With the loss to the Redskins, the Bucs have now lost three consecutive games following their Week 1 win over the Panthers.
The Washington Redskins escaped Tampa with a 24-22 win over the Buccaneers on a very late 41-yard field goal by Billy Cundiff.

The Washington Redskins defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 24-22, on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium.

The Redskins jumped out to a 21-3 lead through most of the first two quarters before the Buccaneers added a 57-yard field goal late in the first half. The Buccaneers shut down the Redskins' offense in the second half and completed the comeback with a 47-yard field to take the lead with 1:42 to play. Robert Griffin III was efficient in the first half leading the Redskins to the lead but was held without a touchdown pass. His counterpart, Josh Freeman, had one interception in the first half before leading the Buccaneers on four unanswered scoring drives. Griffin would have the last laugh as he scrambled for 15 yards deep into Tampa Bay territory to set up Billy Cundiff's game-winning field goal. Cundiff had missed his first three field goals of the contest.

Fantasy studs/duds: Alfred Morris had a big game for the Redskins with 113 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries. Lagarrett Blount also had a rushing touchdown for the Buccaneers but only had six carries for 17 yards. A pair of Buccaneers receivers had 100-yard receiving days for the first time since 1992 and both could be up for fantasy honors.Vincent Jackson had six grabs for 100 yards and a touchdown while Mike Williams hauled in four passes for 115 yards.

Odds/Gambling: The Buccaneers were slight favorites (-2) in this game. The Buccaneers did not cover the spread as they fell short of victory.

Injury info: There were no significant injuries for either team in the game. However, before the game Washington receiver Aldrick Robinson and safety Brandon Merriweather collided in the end zone during warmups and were inactive for the game.

Next team on the schedule: Redskins vs. Atlanta Falcons / Buccaneers vs. Kansas City Chiefs

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are struggling against the Washington Redskins in Sunday's game, down at halftime, 21-6. Rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III is outplaying Bucs quarterback Josh Freeman so far, with Griffin completing 77 percent of his passes for 126 yards.

Freeman is just 11-of-19 for 80 passing yards and an interception. Even with Griffin throwing the ball well, all of the Redskins' scores have come on rushing touchdowns and a fumble recovery. After the Bucs cracked the scoreboard first with a 50-yard field goal by Connor Barth, the Washington offense went to work.

Pierre Garcon recovered an RGIII fumble for a touchdown to score the Redskins' first points. Griffin ran for a five-yard touchdown score in the second quarter, and Alfred Morris took off on the left side for a 39-yard touchdown run .

Barth finished off the half with another field goal, this time from 57 yards out, to cut into the Redskins' lead.

For the first time since Week 1, Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon is back and in the starting lineup today against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Garcon had four receptions for 109 yards and a touchdown in the Redskins' Week 1 victory over the Saints, and looks to make an immediate fantasy impact today.

Other Washington inactives include wide receiver Aldrick Robinson and safety Brandon Meriweather. The two collided during pregame warmups, which led to both being deactivated for today's game in Tampa.

According to the Washington Post, Meriweather's left knee hit Robinson in the head while he was bending over to pick up a football. Both players initially collapsed on the field, then returned to the locker room.

Washington's other inactives include cornerback Cedric Griffin, guard Adam Gettis, linebacker Markus White, and quarterback Rex Grossman.

Running back Ryan Grant, who was added to the Redskins' roster this week, will also not play.

On the other sideline, the Buccaneers activated cornerback E.J. Biggers for the first time this season to try and stop the Redskins' passing attack.

Tampa Bay's other inactives are cornerbacks Myron Lewis and Anthony Gaitor, running back Michael Smith, safety Keith Tandy, linebacker Najee Goode, tackle Jeremy Trueblood and wide receiver Chris Owusu.

Tampa Bay and Washington are both trying to end two-game losing skids.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will try to snap a two-game losing streak when they face the Washington Redskins on Sunday afternoon. It's a pivotal game for both teams, as they're each 1-2 after the first three weeks of the season.

Offense hasn't been a problem for the Redskins in 2012. Led by rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III, Washington is sixth in the league in total yards per game and first in scoring at 33 points per game. The defense has been a different story; it's 30th in yards allowed per game and have given up 33.7 points per game. A vulnerable defense comes at a good time for the Bucs' offense, which is last in total yardage and 24th in scoring.

On the injury front, Bucs cornerback Anthony Gaitor will not play, but the team is expected to have DB E.J. Washington cornerback Cedric Griffin is out, and wide receiver Pierre Garcon, tackle Trent Williams and wide receiver Brandon Banks are listed as questionable.
