Bulls Run Over Owls

(Saturday, October 2nd)

Final Score: South Florida 31, Florida Atlantic 3

Tampa, FL (Sports Network) – Moise Plancher rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns to lead the South Florida Bulls to a convincing, 31-3 decision over the Florida Atlantic Owls in a non-conference tilt at Raymond James Stadium.

B.J. Daniels threw for 155 yards and one touchdown for South Florida (3-1), while Dontavia Bogan hauled in the touchdown pass and finished with 66 yards on five receptions.

As for the Owls (1-3), they were led by Jeff Van Camp, who threw for 136 yards on 17-of-22 passing. However, the signal caller was intercepted once and sacked seven times.

The Bulls pounded FAU in the first quarter, scoring twice to take an early 14-0 lead.

The first score was a five-yard touchdown run by Plancher, but the second touchdown came from the special teams.

With just under two minutes to play in the opening frame Quenton Washington blocked a punt, which was returned 11 yards by Armando Sanchez, giving South Florida the two touchdown advantage.

The Owls finally found the scoreboard late in the second frame, as Ross Gornall connected on a 29-yard field goal.

South Florida continued its dominance in the second half, as Daniels connected on a 38-yard scoring strike to Bogan less than a minute into the third quarter.

Midway through the frame Maikon Bonani nailed a 46-yard kick to push the Bulls lead to 24-3.

Plancher plunged into the end zone on a one-yard run early in the final frame, giving South Florida a commanding 28-point advantage.

South Florida would hold on to that lead, as Florida Atlantic was unable to mount a comeback.
