BCS Rankings Week 7: LSU, Alabama Atop First Standings

With the conclusion of last week's slate of college football games, the first BCS Rankings of the 2011 season are available, and the LSU Tigers hold a narrow edge over the Alabama Crimson Tide for the No. 1 spot. The Oklahoma Sooners, Oklahoma St. Cowboys, and Boise St. Broncos round out the top five.

To no one's surprise, the struggling Florida Gators, Florida St. Seminoles, and South Florida Bulls are all absent from the rankings.

Among teams that share conferences with Florida schools, the Clemson Tigers (No. 7), Virginia Tech Hokies (No. 12), and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (No. 22) represent the ACC; Louisiana State (No. 1), Alabama (No. 2), and South Carolina Gamecocks (No. 14) represent the SEC; and the West Virginia Mountaineers (No. 15) represent the Big East.
