After only giving up 5 turnovers during their 4 game winning streak to start of the year (with three of those in mop up duty), the USF Bulls coughed up the ball 6 times during their 2-game losing streak. With a ballhawking Cincinnati defense coming to Tampa this Saturday, Skip Holtz knows that the Bulls need to do a better job holding onto the ball if the Bulls are to win their first Big East game of the year.↵
Cincinnati currently ranks 2nd in the nation with an incredible +12 turnover margin after 6 games, and that has been one of the big reasons the Bearcats are off to a 5-1 start this year. USF has experience with how turnovers affect the outcome of games. In the season opener against Notre Dame, the Irish outgained USF by 254 yards, but the Bulls were able to force 5 turnovers while committing none and were able to come out of South Bend with a 23-20 win.↵
On the other side, USF weren't able to overcome a -2 turnover margain against UConn last week, even though the Bulls outgained the Huskies by 86 yards. Two turnovers inside the UConn 35 (including one inside the 10) kept at least 6 points off of the board, and that ended up being the difference in last week's 16-10 loss in East Haftford.↵
Just something to keep an eye on during the game this week.
