After losing to the West Virginia Mountaineers Thursday night, the USF Bulls have completed an epic journey of disappointment. After starting the season 4-0 and climbing as high as #16 in the AP Poll, the Bulls crashed hard; they went 1-7 over their remaining eight games, finishing one win shy of bowl eligibility. This is the first time in seven years that the Bulls have not qualified for a bowl.
After the game, head coach Skip Holtz talked to the media and answered some questions about the Bulls’ disappointing season. Greg Auman from the St. Petersburg Times captured his words:
Around the 2:30 mark, Holtz talks a bit about this season overall and how the USF Bulls lost so many games during the final minutes. He went so far as to say, “This is one of the better teams I’ve ever had.”
Auman also caught up with defensive coordinator Mark Snyder and offensive coordinator Todd Fitch. You can find those videos at his blog.
