USF Big East Tournament Seeding Possibilities

The South Florida Bulls and St. John’s Red Storm are just about to tip off from Carnesecca Arena in Queens, New York. This is the last day of Big East conference play, and seeds to next week’s Big East tournament at Madison Square Garden are still being sorted out as this final game of the regular season begins.

According to Voodoo Five, here are the scenarios in play for USF:

USF loses/Marquette loses to Seton Hall: Connecticut (10-15 game)
USF loses/Marquette beats Seton Hall: Villanova (10-15 game)

Seton Hall leads Marquette 64-55 with about 6:30 to go.

A USF win tonight would not change the above, unless Providence also loses to Rutgers, in which case:

USF wins/Providence loses/Marquette wins: Villanova (11-14 game)
USF wins/Providence loses/Marquette loses: Marquette (11-14 game)

10-15 game winner will face #7 Cincinnati, then would face #2 Notre Dame.
11-14 game winner will face #6 West Virginia, then would face #3 Louisville.

In any scenario, the Bulls’ next game will be on Tuesday from New York.

The Red Storm's chances of receiving a “double bye” to Thursday’s quarterfinals were dashed when Syracuse hammered DePaul 107-59 earlier today. Instead, they will settle for a single bye to Wednesday’s games.
