The start of tonight’s second-round Big East Tournament game between the South Florida Bulls and Cincinnati Bearcats was just like the start of last night’s game between USF and the Villanova Wildcats. Except the total opposite of that. Last night the Bulls jumped out to an 8-0 lead; tonight it was Cincinnati that scored the first eight points of the game.
We’re at the first media timeout, a little more than five minutes into the game, and Cincinnati leads 12-5. Yancy Gates has eight points already for the Bearcats, and their fierce defense (fourth in the NCAA in points allowed per game) is already giving USF fits.
