Predict The Future At USF Spring Game, Meet Skip Holtz

So, you think you can run the USF offense? This Saturday, you'll have a chance to prove it by calling the play ahead of time at the spring game at Raymond James Stadium.

The details of the Armchair QB game are posted on USF's official site, but here's a quick rundown of how it works. If you're on Twitter and using Foursquare, go to the game and check in at the stadium on Saturday. Then wait for @USFFootball to tell you which series of plays will be the Armchair QB series of plays. After that, all you have to do is respond on Twitter and predict run or pass, which direction the play will go, and if it's a pass, how long the pass will be. You get 1 point for predicting the play and 2 bonus points for predicting the direction. The grand prize is a chance to meet head coach Skip Holtz, which is definitely worth the trouble.

It's nice to see USF engaging fans through social media in a fun way like this - since there won't be 50,000 people at the game, the cellular networks won't be overloaded. The athletic department can pick up followers on Twitter, and who knows what kind of special offers they might load up for fans checking in at Raymond James Stadium on Foursquare. Plus unlike certain schools we've seen, it might be really hard to guess the plays correctly. Et tu, LSU?

(Using Florida would have been the easy pick. But Steve Addazio actually had around a dozen plays to choose from. Of course none of them worked, but it was at least a tiny bit of a guessing game.)
