USF And Florida Basketball Attendence Down From Last Season

The NCAA released their annual attendance figures for the 2011 season, and both USF and Florida's had their average per game numbers drop from 2010. The Gators dropped from 10,947 in 2010 to 10,186 this year, while the Bulls dropped from 4884 to 4230.

USF's drop in attendance seems pretty easy to peg. The Bulls lost their most exciting player in Dominique Jones to the NBA Draft and went through a tumultuous 10-23 season which included losses to schools like James Madison, Florida Atlantic, and Kent State. Florida's drop seems more surprising considering the Gators went 26-7 and won the SEC Regular Season Championship this year.

If you were wondering, the Top 5 schools in attendance were the Kentucky (23,603), Syracuse (22,312), Louisville (21,832), North Carolina (19,144), and Tennessee (18,952). Even the Wildcats took a step back in attendance this year, with UK going from 24,111 in 2010 to 23,603 this season.
