Terrell McClain And Two Other USF Players Taken in NFL Draft

The NFL draft weekend was a big success for the Buccaneers, but the Bucs weren't the only ones that had a good weekend. There were a handful of players on the USF football team that were hoping to get selected in the draft this year, and three players ended up getting picked: Terrell McClain, Mistral Raymond, and Jacquain Williams.

McClain was selected in the third round by the Carolina Panthers and he will likely get ample opportunities to play, considering how poor Carolina's defense has been. Raymond and Williams were both taken in the sixth round, but they both sound excited to be given a chance to play in the NFL. Raymond has already said that he's willing to play whatever position in order to help his new team (the Vikings), and Williams will get a chance to play alongside another USF grad with the Giants, Jason Pierre-Paul

To these players, getting picked in the Draft is a dream come true. They've played football their entire lives, with the NFL being that final goal on the far horizon. I'm always excited for players that finally get a chance to play professionally after putting in so much time and effort to get there, and it sounds like these three players are all very honored to have the chance to play.

The best of luck to them. Here's hoping they all have long, fruitful NFL careers.
