After their 52-24 win over UTEP on Saturday, the USF Bulls continue to climb through both the AP and USA Today Polls. Last week, the Bulls had been ranked 18th in the AP Poll and 17th in the USA Today poll, but this week rose to #16 and #14, respectively.
These rating mark the highest the Bulls have been ranked this season, but depending how the next few weeks go, they could rise considerably higher in a short period of time. The Bulls have had an easy schedule to date, feasting off three weak opponents (and Notre Dame), but they open up their Big East schedule this Thursday with a game against Pittsburgh.
But as quickly as USF is rising through the ranks, Florida State is plummeting even faster. The Seminoles had been ranked #5 in the country just a few weeks ago, but last week's loss to Oklahoma dropped them to #11. And then after this week's loss to Clemson, the 'Noles dropped all the way down to around #23/24 in both polls. They are now ranked lower than the other two main Florida schools: the Gators (#12) and the Bulls (#14).
