USF Football Awards Ceremony: Bulls Set GPA Record Again

The South Florida football team held its annual awards banquet this weekend, and the Tampa Bay Times' Greg Auman reports the Bulls set a team GPA record for the third straight semester according to coach Skip Holtz.

Auman reports tight end Evan Landi, place kicker Maikon Bonani, and defensive back Brandon Salinas won Scholar-Athlete awards for finishing the fall semester with 4.0 GPAs. A total of 10 players including wide receiver Lindsey Lamar and defensive tackle Luke Sager earned a 3.5 GPA or greater GPA while 19 players checked in at 3.0 or better. A total of 31 finished at 2.5 or better.

Quarterback B.J. Daniels was named the team's offensive MVP, safety Mark Joyce took the special team MVP award while linebacker DeDe Lattimore and defensive tackle Cory Grissom split the defensive MVP honors, according to Auman.
