USF Hires Chris Cosh As Defensive Coorinator

The South Florida Bulls filled their vacancy at defensive coordinator Wednesday night, as they hired Chris Cosh, formerly of the Kansas St. Wildcats. As Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times notes, the hire reunites Cosh with head coach Skip Holtz; the pair worked together with the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Cosh's defenses with Kansas St. have ranked No. 48, No. 78, and No. 68 in his three seasons there, and the Wildcats went 23-15 overall. At USF, he replaces Mark Snyder, who left to take the defensive coordinator position with the Texas A&M Aggies.

The Bulls went 5-7 in 2011, with all but one of their losses coming by six points or fewer. Perhaps adding Cosh to the staff will be enough to get USF over the proverbial hump.
