South Florida Vs. Louisville: Bulls Look For Bubble Help On The Road

The Bulls are in need of a signature win to get help on their NCAA Tournament resume. Can they get a big win in Louisville Wednesday night?

Presswire

With only two games remaining in the regular season, the South Florida Bulls are looking for another quality win to help their NCAA Tournament chances. While their record has them in fifth place in the Big East they are still lacking a signature win to push them off the bubble and into the NCAA Tournament.

Such an opportunity presents itself Wednesday night at the KFC Yum! Center against the Louisville Cardinals. One of the biggest issues for the Bulls lately has been a lack of scoring, failing to score more than 65 points in each of the last seven games. Despite that, the Bulls have won five of their last six after a 30-point loss to Georgetown on Feb. 4.

Forward Augustus Gilchrist is the only South Florida player that is averaging double figures at 10 points per game exactly. He also averages about five rebounds per game. Forward Victor Rudd Jr. and Guard Jawanza Poland both average 8.7 points per game and will be crucial to the success of the Bulls Wednesday evening.

On the side of Louisville, Kyle Kuric leads the Cardinals with 13.1 points per. Kuric also averages 4.7 rebounds per game. Russ Smith adds 12.2 points per game to the equation and Chris Smith adds 10.2. Another factor that could play well for Louisville is their shooting defense allowing 37.6 percent of shots made. That percentage good for third in the nation for field goal defense.

The tip-off for this game is scheduled for 7 p.m. will be broadcast on BHSN and streaming live on ESPN3.com
