The South Florida Bulls went into Georgetown hoping to potentially pull an upset victory and stay in the top half of the Big East, but instead they walked away from the Verizon Center on the heels of a 75-45 beat down at the hands of the Hoyas. The Bulls kept the game close in the first half, trailing just 23-15, but the Hoyas offense went into another gear in the second half putting up 52 points.
The Hoyas outscored the Bulls game total in the second half alone, but in the loss center Augustus Gilchrist led the team in scoring. Gilchrist put up 15 points with 4 rebounds while Toarlyn Fitzpatrick put up eight points with five rebounds off the bench. A big reason for the blowout in the second half is the fact that the Bulls turned the ball over 17 times.
