The Central Florida Knights will honor former defensive lineman Robert Pritchard this weekend as he continues to recover from a massive stroke he suffered last summer. Paul Tenorio of the Orlando Sentinel writes UCF players will wear stickers on their helmets with the initials "RP" in honor of Pritchard.
The Knights are expecting Pritchard to attend Saturday night's game against the SMU Mustangs, which is also the Knights' homecoming game. Pritchard, who played for UCF from 2008-11, suffered from uncontrollable seizures last July. At the hospital, his condition worsened to the point of paralysis. Doctors later determined that Pritchard suffered a massive stroke.
The Knights enter this weekend's game against the Mustangs 6-2 on the season, 4-0 in Conference USA and lead the conference's East Division by a half-game over the East Carolina Pirates. Kickoff for Saturday's game is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on the CBS Sports Network.
