Josh Freeman finally found some rhythm on offense engineering a 3 play scoring drive with a heavy dose of rookie wide out Mike Williams. Williams finished the drive when he hauled in a 49 yard touchdown pass for the longest catch of his young career to tie the game at 14 all.
The Arizona Cardinal’s have benched Max Hall and handed the reigns to veteran quarterback Derek Anderson after Hall threw his second pick six of the game, this time into the arms of cornerback Aqib Talib who jumped an out route and took it back down the right side line for the score putting the Buccaneers ahead 21-14.
After stopping Anderson and the Cardinals offense on fourth and 2 inside the 10, Freeman led a dramatic 12 play two minute drill that featured a big third and long pick up by LeGarrette Blount and later a Freeman interception nullified by penalty. Connor Barth capped the drive with a 21 yard field goal as time expired in the half.
After two very entertaining quarters the Buccaneers now hold a 24-14 lead at halftime.
