Derrick Ward Is Bitter

New, 1 comment

Former Buccaneer running back Derrick Ward doesn't exactly have fond memories of his year here in Tampa Bay. Talking to the press earlier this week his vitriol came across loud and clear. Speaking about his new team he told the press that the Buccaneer's set their standards lower than other clubs and in his eyes don't want to win.

"This year, I’m on a better team, a team that actually wants to win, compete and get to that next level"

Ward implied that the Bucs spread rumors that he was overweight and out of shape when he claims he was not. He also spoke highly of his new team, saying that he is embracing his new role as a mentor to Arian Foster.

[the Texans are] a team that actually wants to block for their running backs, actually wants to win and doesn't set their goals to a [lower] standard,"

Ward was cut by the Buccaneers before the season and signed with the Houston Texans.
