Falcons Lay Claim To Raheem's "Best Team"

The Atlanta Flacons made a statement last night on Thursday Night Football that they are arguably the NFC's best team. Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris had made this claim about his Bucs team three weeks ago when the Falcons and the Buccaneers were tied for the best record but following a nail biting win over the Buccaneers last Sunday and a thriller against the AFC Super Bowl contender Baltimore Ravens last night on NFL Network the claim of best in the NFC is entirely Atlanta's to make.

Atlanta improved to 7-0 outside of Pennsylvania this season as well as 5-0 at home in the Georgia Dome.

The Ravens didn't do the Buccaneers any favors last night in their 21-26 defeat to Atlanta as the Buccaneers now find themselves 1.5 games behind Atlanta in the NFC South Standings and a half game behind the idle New Orleans Saints. This weeks match-up against Carolina was already important but becomes a virtual must-win for the Bucs if they hope to keep pace in what may be the best division in the NFC this year.

NFC South Standings

W L T PF PA
Atlanta 7 2 0 222 175
New Orleans 6 3 0 201 151
Tampa Bay 5 3 0 157 190
Carolina 1 7 0 88 184
