Seahawks Strike First, Lead 7-3 After First Quarter.

The Seattle Seahawks have nothing to play for today in Tampa Bay against the Buccaneers because next week’s matchup with the Rams will decide their playoff fate win or lose today. That being said, the lack of incentive hasn’t shown yet in Seattle’s play as they have struck first against the Buccaneers and currently lead 7-3 at the end of the first quarter.

Matt Hasselbeck led the Seahawks on their first drive and capped it with a rushing touchdown, rolling out on a bootleg and going in untouched from the one yard line. Troubling for Seattle is that Hasselbeck pulled up injured as he scored and has gone to the locker room with a hip injury. His return is questionable and he has been replaced by Charlie Whitehurst.

The Buccaneer’s got great field position from a 79 yard kick off return by Michael Spurlock but were only able to muster three points on a Connor Barth field goal.
