Add Injury To Insult: Faine, Talib Done For Year

As if the loss to the Falcons wasn’t bad news enough for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Christmas season, the team learned today that starting center Jeff Faine and cornerback Aqib Talib both suffered season ending injuries in the 28-24 heart-breaker to Atlanta.

Rick Stroud of the St. Petersburg Times is reporting that Talib suffered a hip injury and Faine suffered a triceps injury and likely neither will play again this year.

This is a big blow for the Buccaneers team that is already dealing with the loss of Cody Grimm, Tanard Jackson in the secondary as well as continued shuffling on the offensive line. Talib was having an outstanding season, with six interceptions in 11 games and Faine was last seasons big splash free agent signing and the anchor of the offensive line.

EJ Biggers and Jeremy Zuttah will be the likely replacements in their absences.
