After one half at Raymond James Stadium, the Bucs trail the Houston Texans 16-3.
The Texans would extend their lead to 16-0 on a short pass to the flat from Matt Schaub to Arian Foster. 2010’s NFL rushing leader would take it to the end zone on an incredible move on the sidelines, cutting right past Sean Jones for a 78 yard touchdown.
Tampa Bay looked like they were going to finally end the shutout in the last two minutes of the half but a drive disappointingly stalled inside the ten yard line. On third and ten inside the 15 yard line, a Josh Freeman pass to the flat to Preston Parker came up two yards short. On fourth and two, Bucs head coach Raheem Morris elected to go for it. Freeman would heave a fade pass to the right corner of the end zone that was broken up by Kareem Jackson and the Bucs turned it over on downs.
Tampa, however, would finally get on the board as time expired in the first half when Houston quickly gave the ball back. Connor Barth converted a 55 yard field goal to make the score 16-3. The opportunity was set up when the Texans quickly went three and out and were forced to punt from their own four yard line. After the previously stalled drive inside the ten yard line, the Bucs utilized their final chance to get three on the board. They will receive the 2nd half kickoff.
