2011 NFL Mock Draft: Ryan Kerrigan Still Linked To The Bucs

SB Nation has just come out with their latest edition of the 2011 NFL Mock Draft, and things have not changed for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They still have the Bucs filling their biggest position of need with Purdue defensive end Ryan Kerrigan. Here is their rationale.

He's not the prototypical speed rusher for the Tampa 2 defense, but Kerrigan will fit in anyway - not just because the need is dire, but because his hustle and instincts will make him a great complement to the prototypical speed rusher they eventually land.

Kerrigan is the kind of guy that you can put on the strong side of the line because he is as good against the run as he is at getting to the quarterback. And the Bucs would welcome his motor and tenacity. He might not bring in the sack totals that many people believe that the Bucs need from their defensive end, but he will bring a lot of production, and could make the rest of the defensive line look very good. Like they said, the Bucs would still need a speed rusher opposite him on the defensive line to generate those sacks, but Kerrigan could be part of a very successful defensive line of the future.
