2011 NFL Mock Draft: Akeem Ayers To The Bucs In Latest From Todd McShay

Most of the NFL Mock Drafts you will find across the Internet are put together by people who don't really know who the teams will take, just who they feel the teams will take. It's a fun exercise, but it's not really a useful exercise. But the newest mock draft from Todd McShay at ESPN is different. He brings in two actual NFL Scouts to help him make his picks, which makes it feel a little bit more real.

They have the Bucs taking Akeem Ayers, the outside linebacker from UCLA. It's worth noting that all of the defensive ends we have been talking about the Bucs taking for the last few months here are all off the board when the Bucs pick. If they can't get any of those ends, they would do well to take a player like Ayers who could help generate sacks from the outside linebacker position. They'll need to address the need for an end later in the drat, but there is no reason to reach for one in the first round when it isn't a good value pick. Ayers is good value here, and also fills a position of need.
