Tampa Bay Bucs Sign Undrafted Free Agents Brandon Heath, Cory Brandon, And Four Others

News broke this morning of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signing six undrafted free agents, but as it turns out, that was only the very beginning. Since this morning, the Bucs have reportedly signed six more players (per NEPatriotsDraft.com):

C Matt Allen, Texas A&M
RB Armando Allen Jr., Notre Dame
OL Cory Brandon, Oklahoma
LB Brandon Heath, Louisville
K Josh Jasper, LSU
LS Christian Yount, UCLA

As with the batch this morning, there are some intriguing names within the bunch and a couple players with upside, but for the most part their purpose will be to serve as roster filler during camp. Maybe one or two of them impresses and manages to break camp with the practice squad or as a backup player, but odds are very high that there are no superstars in hiding in this group.

To me, one of the more intriguing names is kicker Josh Jasper. The folks over at Bucs Nation seem decently high on him:

He played for LSU and was pretty accurate there, making 47/56 kicks with a career long of 53 yards. He missed one extra point on 76 attempts. The only problem: he’s not great on kickoffs. He’ll compete with Connor Barth in camp, but I doubt he beats Barth out.

The signings just keep coming in. Geez, it’s like teams are trying to make up for lost time or something…
