Thank you Sander for pointing out this lovely tidbit:
↵↵↵"Clayborn's contract has become a polarizing issue in this year's condensed negotiations. There are a few front offices around the league cursing the Buccaneers under their breath for creating a precedent that will certainly be in place now for probably the ten-year length of the deal." (Andrew Brandt)

Wait, you're telling me that because the Buccaneers gave first-round pick Adrian Clayborn a guaranteed contract, other NFL teams are now going to have to follow suit? Oh, the horror! How will NFL teams ever survive? Now they'll have to guarantee these young players a few million a year, and they won't be able to just cut and run if these players get injured or don't pan out!
↵Cry me a river, NFL. These first round picks are still making a pittance compared to older, more established players, and it's barbaric and unfair that you have non-guaranteed contracts in football in the first place. You're asking these players to go out there and bash up their bodies on a weekly basis, but then you won't even guarantee them their salary if they get hurt? I'm sorry, but I have no sympathy for you.
↵Kudos to the Bucs for setting the precedent here. I can only hope more teams follow suit.
