NFL Playoff Schedule 2012: Divisional Play Opens With New Orleans Saints Vs. San Francisco 49ers Matchup

The NFL Playoffs continue Saturday and Sunday as the eight remaining teams enter divisional play.

The action begins at 4:30 Eastern on Saturday when the New Orleans Saints visit the San Francisco 49ers; catch that game on FOX. Later that night, Tim Tebow leads the Broncos to Foxboro for a rematch with the New England Patriots. Kickoff is set for 8 Eastern on CBS.

Sunday opens with another AFC battle as the Houston Texans visit the Baltimore Ravens at 1 Eastern on CBS. Divisional play concludes Sunday afternoon when the 15-1 Green Bay Packers host the New York Giants at 4:30 on FOX.

The Niners, Patriots, Ravens, and Packers earned first-round byes, while the Saints, Broncos, Texans, and Giants had to fight their way in.

New Orleans and Green Bay are heavy favorites to advance to the NFC Championship, but as David Fucillo of SB Nation NFL writes, a strong pass rush by their opponents in divisional play can ruin those plans. SB Nation colleague Jon Bois, meanwhile, used a statisitcal approach to evaluate myths about how postseason play differs from regular-season play.
