The Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Minnesota Vikings 36-17 last Thursday, but the news was not all good, as both Michael Bennett and Eric Wright suffered injuries.
Bennett suffered an ankle injury late in the game, but head coach Greg Schiano did not sound too concerned about its severity when speaking about the matter afterward. Bennett has started every game for Tampa Bay this season and leads the defense with five sacks. He has also forced three fumbles.
Wright is dealing with an Achilles injury and was not able to work out with the team on Monday. He also faces a potential four-game suspension for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy. If Wright can't play next week, whether because of injury or suspension, he would likely be replaced in the secondary by a combination of Brandon McDonald and Myron Lewis. Wright has started all seven games for the Bucs this season and has 31 tackles.
