Aqib Talib trade: Buccaneers receive 4th-round pick, send 7th-round pick to Patriots

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have traded Aqib Tailb and a seventh-round pick to the New England Patriots for their fourth-round pick, the Buccaneers have announced. The trade came just before the NFL's extended deadline on Thursday.

Talib was drafted in the first round by Tampa Bay back in 2008. He has recorded 183 tackles and 18 interceptions in 58 games with the Bucs.

The Patriots were looking to upgrade their secondary, but Talib is a suprise addition. The fifth-year veteran has not been eligible to play since October 13, following a suspension for violation of the league's substance abuse policy. Talib is scheduled to be eligible for game action again this upcoming Sunday, but will likely need to get acquainted with the Patriots system.

New England has bounced back from a slow start to sit at 5-3 midway through the season. The Bucs are 3-4 after a Week 8 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
