Denver Broncos defensive end Robert Ayers missed practice Wednesday, according to SB Nation Denver. Ayers took a leave of absence from the team following his father's unexpected death on Saturday night. Offensive guard Manny Ramirez (back) and wide receiver Brandon Stokley (wrist/hip) were limited in their participation. The status of Ramirez and Stokley remains uncertain for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay. Three other Broncos were listed on the team's injury report but were fully active in Wednesday's practice.

Ayers played against the Chiefs last Sunday despite having heard about his father's passing. According to USA Today, Broncos coach John Fox gave Ayers the game ball following Denver's victory. It's unknown when Ayers will rejoin the team.

Stokley has been Denver's third-most-productive receiver this season. He has 36 catches so far for 449 yards and five touchdowns. The Broncos come into Sunday's game at 8-3. They're currently first place in the AFC West. Sunday's game kicks off at 4 p.m. EST.
