The state of Florida has certainly seen better times in the NFL, but Florida does boast two fringe playoff contenders at the least -- and the latest NFL power rankings around the internet reflect that. [???]
SB Nation's Joel Thorman ranked the Miami Dolphins No. 14 in his rankings, dropping the Dolphins just one spot following Miami's 23-20 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9. The Dolphins have a good chance of moving back over .500 in Week 10, when they play host to the Tennessee Titans, so the Dolphins could once again be on the rise.
Thorman ranked Florida's other 4-4 team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, No. 17, following Tampa Bay's thrilling 42-32 win over the Oakland Raiders. With two straight wins, the Buccaneers certainly have momentum, and could vault up the rankings with a win over the San Diego Chargers in Week 10.
Jacksonville, as expected, is ranked toward the bottom of Thorman's rankings, coming in at No. 31, only ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs. Jags fans will hope that the Jaguars move up slightly this week, as Jacksonville will try to dampen Indy's playoff hopes on Thursday Night Football.
ESPN believes in the Buccaneers much more than Thorman does, ranking them No. 13, and moving them up eight spots following Week 9 -- the biggest jump of any team in the league.
The Dolphins dropped three spots over at ESPN, moving from No. 12 to No. 15, while the Jaguars are ranked No. 31.
