2012 NFL Power Rankings: Buccaneers drop 3 spots

Tampa Bay dips in the power rankings after falling late to the Eagles on Sunday.

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers hoped to snap a losing streak on Sunday. Instead, they helped end the Philadelphia Eagles' losing streak.

The Bucs fell to the Eagles, 23-21, on Sunday. Philly had lost eight games in a row heading into the game, but two late touchdowns sunk the Buccaneers.

The loss pushed the Bucs down from No. 15 to No. 18 in this week's SB Nation NFL power rankings. Here's what Joel Thorman had to say about Tampa Bay this week:

18. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (LW: 15, 6-7): The Bucs usually beat the teams they should. Losing to the Eagles was their first loss of the season that's inexplicable.

The Bucs grabbed a 14-10 lead early in the fourth quarter Sunday with a Josh Freeman touchdown pass. A Doug Martin touchdown run with 7:21 left gave the Bucs a 21-10 lead, but Nick Foles had two TD passes in the final four minutes to lift Philly to the win.

Tampa Bay has lost three games in a row and is 6-7 this season. The Bucs finish the season with games against the New Orleans Saints, St. Louis Rams and Atlanta Falcons.
