In a move that surprises few the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have released former all-pro defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth, according to a tweet from Tampa Bay Times beat reporter Stephen Holder.
This would be the third team that Haynesworth has been released or traded from in the last year. Haynesworth been dogged with issues of conditioning, commitment to playing and just overall non-production on the field, despite his reputation while with the Tennessee Titans as a dominant defensive player. He was traded to New England from Washington in July, and then released by the Patriots just four months later. He was picked up by Tampa Bay shortly after his release, but was a non-factor on the field of play.
With his reputation as a dominant defensive player so sullied after the last three season, one wonders if any NFL team will take a chance on Haynesworth ever again. If a team does take a chance on him, it probably will not be for a massive contract with a lot of guaranteed money.
