Buccaneers Coaching Staff Search: Greg Schiano Eyes John Shoop For Offensive Coordinator

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano is trying to quickly fill his coaching staff, and rumor has it he's targeting North Carolina offensive coordinator and former Tampa Bay quarterbacks coach John Shoop for the same job in Tampa.

"Shoop was Tampa Bay’s quarterbacks coach in 2004 before joining the Oakland Raiders in the same role the following season," writes FoxSports.com's Alex Marvez. "Shoop, who was the Chicago Bears' offensive coordinator from 2001-03, ran the University of North Carolina’s offense the past five seasons."

On Monday, Schiano interviewed Rob Turner and Bill Lazor for the position, however, Lazor decided to stay the offensive coordinator at the University of Virginia.

Last week, Schiano asked permission to speak with Green Bay tight ends coach Ben McAdoo and Arizona wide receivers coach John McNulty but was denied.

Whoever is hired for the job will join Jimmy Raye II, who was signed to be the senior offensive assistant, as one of Tampa's offensive coaches.
