2012 NFL Mock Draft: Dolphins Pass On Ryan Tannehill In SB Nation Mock

More and more mock drafts are linking the Miami Dolphins to Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill. The reasons are fairly obvious. Miami needs a young quarterback to groom into the face of the franchise. Matt Moore and David Garrard are fine temporary solutions, but they need a long term answer. The latest 2012 NFL Mock Draft at SB Nation has the Dolphins going a different direction, looking for more impact right off the bat.

This mock has them taking South Carolina DE Melvin Ingram. Here is the rationale for the pick:

No Tannehill here? Nope. A bad offseason may have Miami feeling a little risk averse. Drafting a top pass rusher will pay immediate dividends and make them competitive while they reconfigure the offense. Yes, Ingram is the first pass rusher taken in this scenario. There are too many questions about Coples' motivation, and Ingram's speed is appealing.
