LeGarrette Blount's Role Likely To Be Limited With Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Times reported on Monday that running back LeGarrette Blount will still have a role in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense. Blount's role, however, is likely to be limited following the team's acquisition of Boise State running back Doug Martin in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft.

Blount will most likely be an option on first downs and again when the team is running out the clock, something the Buccaneers no doubt happens more often in 2012 than it did last year. That will still be a fairly minimal role for Blount.

On passing downs, Martin will likely be the go-to guy in the Tampa Bay backfield, both for his ability as a pass catcher as well his knack for pass blocking.
